Italians love their cheese and they sure love their cured meats. Everywhere we went in Tuscany, we were served cheeseboards and charcuterie. Oh, and the seafood! They make the most delicious seafood. It almost always came on a wood cutting board and it was always amazing.
A huge part of the wedding was based on our love of cheese and our love of cured meats. I’m, of course, lactose-intolerant. How wonderful, huh? Well, blueberry vanilla goat cheese came in to save the day. We also love fruits and vegetables and we love roasted nuts. Do not even get me started on how much we love raw and local honey made from different flowers in different regions!
The first venue for the ceremony portion of the wedding was at Cypress Grove Gardens. The second venue for the reception portion of the wedding was at Cooper’s Hawk Winery. Both of them had strict rules about decorating or what kind of food you can bring in from outside vendors. We found a way that we could choose all of the produce, cheeses and meats using our local grocery store, Publix.
Through our travels, we have collected all sorts of wooden cutting boards: pine, bamboo, you name it, we collect it. We brought them all into the winery full of meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, sundries, nuts and even spreads. In all shapes and sizes, with small glass bowls full of extras and special cheese knives my grandmother passed down to me, the cheeseboards and charcuterie table was right out of a magazine. See below more details on what we used.
