Galvanized Steel Trash Bin & Spray Painted Copper Handles

June 28, 2016

I swear this is one of the easiest DIY projects known to man. There has been a beautiful Galvanized Steel Trash Bin on our IKEA shopping list for quite a while. There was just so much work to be done out in the patio that left us no room for extra gimmicks and gadgets out in the backyard even if it meant having the coolest Galvanized Steel Trash Bin & Spray Painted Copper Handles on the block.

About a week ago, we went over to IKEA to pick up a couple things: this gorgeous KNODD garbage bin and our perfect TIDAFORS couch. The couch was the least of our worries because we paid extra for delivery and assembly. The delivery men came right over and installed the couch quicker than we got this project done, because I am a great procrastinator not because of difficulty level {just because}.

Once my set of 6 cans of copper spray paint came in from Home Depot, I jumped on this project immediately. It only took two coats on each side to keep it that strong rose gold look that I was looking for. We only wanted to spray paint the handles to make the Galvanized Steel Trash Bin stand out. This is besides my current obsession with copper and rose gold.

My oh my, did it come out beautiful! We are absolutely in love with our Galvanized Steel Garbage Bin & Spray Painted Copper Handles. With such straightforward instructions from IKEA and us, you can spray paint just about any colored handles to match your favorite projects. I highly recommend gold or copper spray paint to add the metallic touch that really makes the trash can pop!

Have anything sitting on your to do list to spray paint? Hit it!
