Spring Floral Arrangement

May 19, 2016

We have such an amazing weekend! We had family over, which is our absolute favorite. My mother and father-in-law, my brother and sister in law, and our niece and nephew all came over for a double birthday celebration. It was Kalex’s birthday on Cinco de Mayo and Lynn’s birthday on the 12th. We planned and planned and finally decided what we wanted to do.

Thank God for AAA and their amazing discounts. We decided we would go to Busch Gardens and Aquatica. All we had to do was log into the AAA website and look up theme park tickets. We got the greatest deal! Three day pass valid for six months after the first entry for use in any three of four different parks: Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. Can you guess how much we paid per person?! I won’t wait all day for you to get it right so I’ll just tell you. $98.99! Yes, you read that right. We got tickets for three different visits all for less than $100 each. What a bargain! That’s what I call a steal.

Since there were going to be so many people staying at our house, we know that our boy, Bentley Mac, would be all riled up on Saturday morning when everyone would get ready to leave for Busch Gardens. I took one for the team and I stayed behind. I also had an HOA board meeting that I had to attend to {I’ll save the association talk for another time}. Of course, the word “celebration” just gets me going and I know I have to go over the top for my brother and sister-in-law since I don’t see as often as I wish I did.

The family left like at 8 AM after having a big and healthy breakfast. My board meeting was at 10 AM so Bentley had a few hours to calm down before I left. When the meeting was over, I hurried back home to prepare for a party! A handful of lemons, gold trimmed flower print ceramic plates, yellow tissue paper pom-pom garland, and fresh flowers.

First things first, Spring Floral Arrangement time! I went to Trader Joe’s and bought a bunch of flowers in every single color. I got red roses and daisies and other colorful beauties. I cut them all up and did a mix match on the vases. Everything came out awesome and everyone loved the decor. I really think the flowers were the hit of the show. All the colors just brightened up the room and made it lovely.

Several days after the party is said and done, we still have our dining room table full of lush flowers. Our Spring Floral Arrangement really did a number and has brought so much fresh life to our home. There is just nothing like freshly cut flowers blooming in your own humble abode.
