Refreshing Stove Top Potpourri

When we moved into this new old ass house, it did not smell good AT ALL. I wanted to freshen up the house a little and let it take on our family smell with this Refreshing Stove Top Potpourri. Any where we live, our house always smells wonderful. I don't know if it's the candles, our air freshener or just us silly girls that smell oh-so wonderful.

 

We definitely could not stand even one more day of our home smelling like this. It's clear to us now that the guys who lived here before us were grotesque. We were up for the challenge of making this our own little spot in the world. With all this in mind, I will set to find a solution like I do with most things. I grabbed a little bit of this in a little bit of that, I put it in a pot and I topped it off with water. I said it to simmer on low for almost 12 hours.

 

 

It's safe to say that this completely solved my problem. It might not have been my favorite scent in the world; however, it did the job so I honestly didn't even care. The fresh slices of lemon absorbed the odors, the rosemary sprigs lightened up the mood and the vanilla extract encompassed the whole home.

 

If I ever had to freshen up the house again, I would definitely use this recipe once more. I've also shared it with family members to clear up any odors or bad stenches that may be lingering, especially after cooking fish. I even kept it on the stove for a few days to turn it on whenever I felt necessary.

 

Of course, don't overdo it like I did. It went bad and you don't want that! Try it out and let me know what you guys think. What odor are you trying to mask?

Refreshing Stove Top Potpourri

 

Take a breath of William Sonoma but at home with Refreshing Stove Top Potpourri featuring sliced lemons, sprigs of rosemary and pure vanilla.

 

 

 

 

Prep time: 5 mins

Work time: 12 hours

Total time: 12 hours 5 mins

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

 

Instructions

  1. Slice lemons.

  2. Fill a large pot with water. Throw in ingredients. Simmer on low for a few hours.

  3. Allow to cool once the home is refreshed and discard.
