PB+J Sandwich

We have discovered the untapped part of the gluten-free lifestyle just recently. White gluten-free, no sugar added sandwich bread! Eureka, the PB+J Sandwich has resurrected in our lives. If you don't have a Trader Joe's nearby, fret not. I have linked a great white gluten-free bread below.

Every type of gluten-free sandwich bread that we have come across in the past have added sugars. We don’t want to make bread a staple in our kitchen, but; we do want to know that there are resources out there to help us learn to make kid-friendly lunches that are appealing to the eye. And, let’s not kid anybody, everyone loves the traditional PB+J Sandwich!

 

 

We love to visit local farmers markets either in our area or in the different cities we visit when we travel. We tend to stop in on any of the stands that sell jams, jellies, preserves or spreads—besides our well-known obsession with raw local honey. We won’t be talking too much about honey on this post. Okay, maybe just a little bit. Jam is just one of the keys to making a great PB+J Sandwich without having to cut the crusts off because it’s too damn good to not.

 

 

On one of our trips to Colorado last year, we picked up a jar of The Living Greens Colorado chokecherry jam sweetened with raw local honey made from their very own farm. The family from The Living Greens Colorado where are the absolute sweetest. Using wild chokecherries and raw Coloradoan honey, they came up with one of the most delicious jams ever. This is just one of the many jams or jellies that we pick up along the way on our travels. Feel free to use any spread you have on hand to make the perfect, healthy PB+J Sandwich.

 

 

Of course, we like to use unsweetened and unsalted raw peanut butter in our kitchen. That’s all that our classic PB+J Sandwich requires, just three ingredients!

PB+J Sandwich

 

We discovered the untapped part of the gluten-free lifestyle just recently. Eureka, the PB+J Sandwich has resurrected in our lives with no sugar or flour.

 

 

Prep time:  2 mins

Cook time:  3 mins

Total time:  5 mins

Serves: 4

 

 

 

 

Ingredients

 

Instructions

  1. Toast your bread slices until slightly crispy. Spread jam evenly onto four slices of bread and equal amounts of peanut butter onto the remaining four slices. Seal up each PB+J Sandwich.

  2. If desired, cut in half diagonally or horizontally before serving. If not, serve and eat as-is.

* My healthy Magical Strawberry Butter is a perfect addition to your gluten-free, no sugar added PB+J Sandwich.
