It was about time this Magical Strawberry Butter reinvented itself. The recipe is basically the same so nothing has really changed except picture and the content of my post. Back when I started my blog a few years ago, I dreamt that my Magical Strawberry Butter would take off and go viral through Pinterest. Even with all the photographic experience I’ve had throughout my lifetime, I learned a thing or two from then till now when it comes to food photography, or lifestyle photography in general.
The original picture of my Magical Strawberry Butter makes me cringe. I took it with an Android phone way back before I knew what was good for me, an iPhone, obviously. I put so much heart into it though, which makes it easier on the eyes to look at. I styled the photo, as I knew how to. I even tried a ribbon around the mason jar to add some style, which it didn’t really need it because hello its Magical Strawberry Butter!! This stuff is straight from the heavenly goddesses and fairies of the strawberries.
Anyhow, it didn’t take off as I had hoped it would have. It’s clear to me now. How are people even going to know that this Magical Strawberry Butter is as legit as I say it is if the photo is a sad little image of a jar that doesn’t even give justice to what we have in hand? I have also used the A Beautiful Mess app to decorate it with some nice hand lettering. Don’t take this the wrong way, I like bold fonts and love digital artwork but I am not personally a fan of lettering all over a decadent jar of fairy made, magic infused, ready-to-die-for strawberry butter. I know…I am crazy; you don’t have to tell me twice. How do you feel about food posts with writing on it? Do you think it’s good or bad for blogging? I am interested in your thoughts on this.
You may be wondering why I am even letting this debut again after so long. What’s wrong with you though?? Don’t you want to dip your fingers in a jar of this and bathe in it? Okay…maybe not, weirdo. I’m only reissuing it now because I made some again, FINALLY, and who the heck doesn’t love Magical Strawberry Butter made by fairies?! I still take almost all of my photos for the blog with my iPhone, because there’s nothing like it, and I have seen improvement in page views ever since my switch to the iPhone 6. Maybe I’ll upgrade to the 7 when it comes out God willing, who knows.
AND, for the record, I still use a few other apps for my blogging stuff, including A Beautiful Mess. I don’t know which is my favorite of all the ones I used. Clearly, Evernote, because I am typing this blog post on here as we speak, or as I speak. Am I out of context? Whatevs. Go make this good ass Magical Strawberry Butter and let me know if you regret it…I doubt it!
