Nothing says America more than a Loaded Hot Dog! And with July 4th coming up on Monday, hot dogs sounded like a very good plan. I mean, I haven’t had hot dogs in forever. Since I don’t eat flour, I never really “looked” for gluten-free hot dog buns or anything because I was focusing on living my life without sugar, flour and dairy.
Time has passed and I look forward to minor indulgences, such as a fully Loaded Hot Dog. The truth is that a lot of these wonderful recipes wouldn’t be possible without Trader Joe’s. Like what bubble was I living in before I started routinely shopping for groceries there?
This Fourth of July means burgers and a super Loaded Hot Dog. Plump, crispy, juicy, healthy, savory goodness. Mmmhm good! I plan on making a bunch of them ahead of time before Melissa and Chris come to pick us up for a night on the town. We are going to drive over to Kissimmee for some classic lakefront fireworks. That kind of activity leaves me hungry so I thought better to eat before we go. Hot dogs are the way to go.
We leave on July 9th for our road trip to Alaska; I just can’t wait to enjoy the quiet roads and great outdoors. I could already smell the firewood burning. YAS! We’re renting an apartment in Fairbanks for two weeks (more specifically North Pole) and it as a patio with a grill. You know for sure that means we’ll be grilling. Perhaps some wood chips for the grill to get that smoky taste?
I made my Loaded Hot Dog with Caramelized Onions and Cilantro Garlic Sauce. That’s the real deal. And that’s a wrap!
