The start of The Legendary Road Trip is now upon us. We never have been more nervous in our lives. We are embarking on a new journey and, as we drive on the road right now, the excitement just builds within. Our first stop was The Florida State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida. Of course, we had to make a stop at our own state's capital before the real trip again. We, then, stopped in Mobile, Alabama to stop by this quaint little town called Ashland Place Historic District. Now, we are on our way to beautiful French Quarter in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. There’s so much to discover and it’s only the first day! Oh me, oh my. Unfortunately, our Healthy Ranch Dip was very perishable to be in the car with us but we brought a bunch of other amazingly healthy goodies with us. Keep yourselves posted on @travel.yelp.live!
I absolutely loved that small town in Alabama. Although, I have been to Mobile many times growing up, I have never come across this cute little neighborhood. It was so nice to see friendly faces as we walked on by through the neighborhood with the boy. As we walked through, it was as though the persons who lived in the neighborhood could tell we were not from there; yet, they still greeted us as we strolled through with smiles on their faces as they worked on their lawn or exercised with their dogs. This is not so common in Florida so we were quite surprised to be greeted this way.
The roads of been calm and we haven’t fought or argued just yet. Being contained in the car for plenty of hours together could definitely bring some hardship and strain on a marriage, haha. But, so far so good! I think the fact that we decided to take the plunge together to do something so extreme shows us both where our marriage really is right now. Not only do we both feel that we are stronger than ever together, by the end of this month we will only be stronger than we’ve ever been together before.
I look forward to writing many more stories of the road trip and sharing them with you along with some recipes I have stored for you, or even some DIY projects, of course. I will certainly miss my craft table that I just recently set up, pictures of that to follow.
